What I don't know is what either program would do with a midi file exported from Finale and if I'm creating a production nightmare trying to do that.Įdit: Would purchasing Dorico and pulling the score into that software answer all of it? I'm also noting that many libraries require the Kontakt player, and Finale uses Aria.ĭo I purchase better libraries and pull it into ProTools and/or Logic? I've never owned either of these but am roughly familiar with how they work (I've gotten away with Audacity for a long time). It's intended for dance, so my goal is to have the playback sound as real and live as possible, so that the dance can be performed without a real orchestra (expense, space, etc.).ĭo I purchase better libraries and keep it in Finale? In order to make the process of setting up Garritan instruments seamless and easy, Finale includes Sound Maps that link your document's instruments with all pre-installed VST libraries. I'm using the Garritan library that comes with Finale, plus the World Instruments. in simple treble clef notation and low brass instruments in Swiss notation. It's a score for small orchestra and percussion, both traditional and African. Finales Garritan instruments ASIO, DirectSound, or WASAPI audio support.
